"This book is neither an oversimplification of a complex problem nor a tedious review of the literature  Rather, it is a COMPREHENSIVE, EASY-TO-READ book on the multifaceted dynamics and treatment implications of violence and chemical dependency.  The authors have done an excellent job of presenting useful information on the interactions of various drugs and violence, the interaction of drugs with different personality types and psychopathologies, and concrete treatment strategies for perpetrators and victims (including children).  I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK to professionals working with substance abusers and to professionals working with any facet of domestic violence.
